Arm Lift

Overview

An arm lift, or brachioplasty, tightens skin that hangs from the upper arm after major weight loss or years of laxity. Liposuction alone cannot shrink skin that has lost its recoil. The trade-off is a scar that usually runs from the armpit toward the elbow on the inner arm. Length, whether a limited axillary cut is enough, and whether liposuction should share the same anaesthetic are clinical decisions. Avenia Global will not promise a hidden scar or a sleeveless result in two weeks. The surgeon also checks lymphoedema risk, blood-sugar control, and whether a body lift should come first.

Who it may be suitable for

• Adults at a stable weight with inner-arm skin that exercise has not corrected
• Patients who can accept an inner-arm scar and limit lifting during the recovery the surgeon sets

Techniques

• Full or limited brachioplasty
• Liposuction only when skin quality can still retract
